The basics of this position:
Working under the immediate supervision of the Executive Director of the Foundation, the Coordinator of Alumni Relations & Fund plays a key role in the Foundation's development efforts; directing alumni outreach efforts designed to engage and stimulate alumni support, and overseeing the annual giving program by coordinating yearly appeals, implementing outreach methods, and ensuring proper stewardship and tracking of overall results. Works closely with the Chancellor's office; the Foundation Board of Directors, all departments within the college, specifically Information Technology and Marketing and Communications; all levels of alumni; community partners and supporters; and STLCC vendors.
What you'll do:
- Plan, implement, and promote a coordinated marketing outreach strategy to encourage
alumni to self-identify and connect with the college.
• Maintain coordination of the St. Louis Community College Alumni Association membership
• Assist with building relationships with a wide range of donors and alumni, locally,
regionally, and nationally.
• Assist with maintaining regular communication with donors and alumni via direct contact,
email, newsletters, web pages, social media and print publications.
• Educate graduating students about alumni benefits and programs.
• Manage the budget for alumni activities.
• Plan, implement, and promote the college's annual fund in alignment with the Foundation's
• Track and monitor pledges, gifts, and annual giving results. Ensure and maintain accurate
and complete donor and alumni database recordsPlan, implement, and evaluate the annual One Club employee giving campaign and the
STLCC Society 1% giving club.
• Act as the primary liaison with Information Technology and serve as the Banner
Advancement Functional Lead.
• Maintain the Foundation & Alumni social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn,
and Flickr) and serve as the Foundation representative on the STLCC Web Design Team.
• Serve as acting executive director—reporting to the Chancellor during the absence of the
STLCC Foundation Executive Director.
• Identify and qualify donor and alumni prospect gifts.
• Work to raise funds for special projects and events in collaboration with Foundation
• Research opportunities and write grants for Foundation initiatives
Education, experience, and other requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and five to seven years of relevant experience in fundraising, donor relations and/or alumni relations, or marketing with demonstrated success.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
Master’s degree and experience with database packages (specifically Banner and/or Raiser’s Edge)
