The basics of this position:

Manages IT purchasing transactions, contracts, requisitions, and including technology RFPs. Researches, plans, negotiates and executes contracts for major technology projects and acquisitions, volume equipment, supply purchases and services for the College IT Division in a manner which reflects responsible stewardship in the expenditure of public funds and control of vendor relationships.

What you'll do:

  • Manages IT purchasing transactions, contracts, requisitions, and including RFPs, and tracks contracts and all requisition activity plus contract terms and conditions, to ensure compliance with all governing policies and procedures and conditions.
  • Analyzes College's total IT requirements to determine optimal method of procurement and project time lines and related schedules to insure needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Researches consumption and technology refresh patterns and identifies probable needs in order to develop optimum strategies for acquisition. Reviews, prepares, and manages contracts terms and conditions favorable to the College.
  • Researches Information Technology provider markets to find best technology sources and services available and to forecast short and long-term market activity that impacts availability, selection and cost.
  • Initiates, develops and maintains quality vendor relationships on behalf of the College that both produce appropriate goods and reliable services that meet service level agreements {SLAs}, but generate quality a business image and enhance the College's standing in the community.
  • Manages !T's vendor relationship ensuring vendor performance to contracts and coordinates resolving underperformance or vendor issues. Monitors commercial ratings and any other indicators of problems so that the best products and services available are procured and College workflow is
    not interrupted.
  • Communicates services available to the IT and College community and trains constituents in how to access services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, experience, and other requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and eight (8) years of relevant full-time experience
