The basics of this position:
The primary duties of the Student Assistant-Art Department include cleaning and maintaining art design, drawing, figure drawing, sculpture, and ceramics studios, organizing tools, materials, and supplies for instructors, helping gallery personal with installation, and assisting with special events within the art department.
What you'll do:
- The student assistant will help instructors keep studios and classrooms clean and organized. They will also help with organizing tools and materials in preparation for projects. The student assistant may occasionally help with gallery activities, including art installation, and event management.
Education, experience, and other requirements:
Current enrolled students with a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of relevant experience, or any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills. The student assistant should be an art student with excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include experience with art handling and installation, and shop management.
