The basics of this position:
Create an atmosphere of effective, efficient, friendly, and reliable service, providing an easy, accessible, credible resource from which individuals can access information. Performs administrative duties necessary to ensure exceptional student service and supports a diverse range of support services at the campus level. Enters requisitions and supervises peer tutors
What you'll do:
- Serves as a Lead Academic Coach and assists TRIO Student Support Services students in learning material necessary to succeed in their academic courses. Works with students on an individual basis or in a small group of three to four students.
Develops and facilitates academic coach and tutor training for TRIO student workers.
Assists with the development of TRIO Summer Academies
Provides supervision to TRIO Student Workers (Peer Leaders, Peer Mentors and/or Peer Tutors
Performs office tasks such as filing, making copies, and scheduling appointments, as necessary
Enters, tracks until receipt and confirms vendor payment of the department's requisition in Banner; assists with scanning and organizing department documents; provides administrative support to the department.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education, experience, and other requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent and over one (1) year of relevant full-time experience.
Knowledge of computers, student information system (Banner, Microsoft Office, scheduling in outlook, copier, printer, multi-line phone, and email.
Prior experience as a tutor, mentor or academic coach at the college level
Experience in overcoming barriers similar to those encountered by students served by the TRIO Student Support Services project.
