The basics of this position:

Provides efficient secretarial support, reception and communications services. The Secretary of Child Development Laboratory Center/Child & Family Development is responsible for providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the CFD/CDLC Director and Administrators.

What you'll do:

  • Types and edits departmental materials.
    Prepares necessary pay documents and forms.
    Maintains appointment and meeting calendars.
    Answers telephone calls, screens and refers calls, and takes messages; provides
    information as appropriate.
    Composes and types correspondence with or without notes.
    Assembles various records to prepare periodic reports.
    Completes necessary forms to order and pay for items; maintains inventory of
    forms and supplies.
    Maintains a filing system, including confidential files.
    Uses telephone, computer, copier, calculator, and other
    current office equipment.
    Receives, opens, and distributes incoming departmental mail.
    May record budget transactions and monitor budgets for the department, calling
    attention to irregularities as indicated.
    May make travel arrangements.
    May function as department timekeeper.
    Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Education, experience, and other requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent and three months of relevant full-time
experience. Must pass skills assessment at the basic level of proficiency in
Microsoft Word 2000 software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift items overhead, bend, and stoop

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with EPaf's, Recaps, workload preparations, and strong communication skills.
