The basics of this position:

Performs duties necessary to secure external grant funding for the College. Provides direction and leadership districtwide in the acquisition and implementation of grants solicited from federal, state, and local public agencies and appropriate private foundations. Works collaboratively with the STLCC Foundation in securing grants from foundations and corporations. Provides oversight for pre-award activities and post-award compliance; analyzes funding trends and patterns and legislation related to external
funding; works with College leadership in cultivating relationships with funders at the national level; and aligns grant acquisition with the College's strategic initiatives

What you'll do:

  • Actively seeks, identifies, and recognizes viable funding opportunities and sources that support college strategic initiatives.
  • Oversees and assists project directors, faculty and staff with all phases of grants.
  • Oversees the writing and submission of all grant proposals; stays current with grant standards and proposal guidelines.
  • Manages all staff in the grants office and the departmental budget. Researches, interprets, and disseminates information on federal, state, and private funding sources.
  • Develops and maintains processes to monitor grant compliance.
  • Provides a full spectrum of training and technical assistance to faculty and staff in the planning, writing, program design, budget development, and evaluation of grants.
  • Works collaboratively with Institutional Research and Planning to plan, coordinate, and execute the gathering of information needed for proposals, reports, and evaluations of grants.
  • Serves as a liaison with funding source program and control officers; resource developers at the local, state, and national levels; community organizations; and regional education and business partners.
  • Supervises dissemination of information about external funding opportunities and other grants-related information.
  • Creates, designs, and implements processes and procedures related to grants management and proposal development.
  • Manages external grant writers hired to develop proposals for the college as necessary.
  • Provides information to the Chancellor and the Board of Trustees on all external publicly-funded projects and programs.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Education, experience, and other requirements:

Master's degree or Bachelor's with equivalent experience in grant writing an/or
managing grant-funded programs or restrictive funding programs and projects
and at least seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience beyond degree
equivalency
