Clinical adjunct faculty teach dental hygiene students clinical skills in the public Dental Hygiene Clinic. The Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) Standards for Dental Hygiene Education require specific instructor student ratios be maintained to be a CODA accredited program. Due to the resignation of several clinical adjunct faculty, additional faculty must be hired to maintain this ratio. |

Upward Bound Facilitators provide guidance, instruction, and support for supplemental high school academic sessions. These academic sessions include work in math, (algebra, advanced algebra, geometry, and pre-calculus), English (grammar, literature, and college
writing), science (physics, chemistry, and Biology I and II), and/or foreign language
(Spanish, Latin, and French). Upward Bound Facilitators provide Saturday sessions
during the academic year to support the participants’ engagement, learning, and
understanding of academic content through project-based learning and collaborative assignments. Upward Bound facilitators are responsible for ensuring a multicultural perspective in all elements of the instruction and content delivered. |

Assist students in achieving educational goals by providing individual and small group tutoring sessions in academic writing and reading comprehension, English grammar, and listening comprehension. Integrate sessions with study and learning strategies to promote learning. Facilitate learning by building rapport with students as an academic coach or mentor; may assist with creation/development of activities, workshops, and supplemental materials; including, but not limited to, handouts, study guides, and tip sheets to use with students. Other job-related duties as assigned. |

Tutors will be responsible for assisting teachers and high school students in classroom learning. Tutors are responsible for assisting students in completing assignments and other program activities. Tutors must be willing to work two Saturdays each month, attend staff meetings and perform other job-related duties as assigned. Tutors must be proficient in one of the following subject areas: English, math (algebra through pre-calculus), Science (biology and/or chemistry), foreign language (Spanish, French, or Latin). |
