The basics of this position:

This position will create and design newspaper layout for digital and print.

What you'll do:

• Create and design monthly newspaper layout for text and photos for The Forum, the print
and digital version of the student newspaper at STLCC-Florissant Valley on a Mac

• Select and edit photos and assist with determining placement of text and photos on the
print version

• Select and edit photos to assist with determining placement of text and photos on
digital/social media platforms

• Work with Adobe InDesign graphic design software

  • Work with WordPress

    • Complete projects in a timely manner and adhere to deadlines

    • Communicate our needs to the printing company and editorial staff to complete and revise
    pages based on feedback

    • Collaborate with adviser/staff to develop new approaches for creating effective graphics

    • Manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions

    • Implement feedback suggestions and changes

    • Analyze and communicate reasoning behind design elements

    • Create and design some advertisements

    • Other job-related tasks as required, including photography

Education, experience, and other requirements:

High school graduate with at least four months (one semester) of experience or education in Graphic Design using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop or other photo editing software
