The basics of this position:

Seeking a dedicated and experienced candidate to supervise a staff of full-time employees and perform daily operational maintenance activities for the College's campus grounds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horticulture, landscape maintenance, team leadership, and dedication to the successful appearance of STLCC campuses.

What you'll do:

  • Coordinates daily assignments to employees involving campus projects, operation, repair and
    maintenance, indoor/outdoor sanitation, turf care, and room setups.
    · Monitors campus work performed by outside contractors.
    · Initiates and may assist in the campus turf and irrigation operations, exterior landscape and
    flower beds. Implements landscape plans. Makes personnel assignments for operating
    grounds/landscape equipment.
    · Oversees the repair and maintenance of grounds keeping and housekeeping equipment.
    · May assist in snow and ice removal operations. Assigns personnel to operate appropriate
    equipment during inclement weather.
    · Provides safety training and instruction to personnel on all equipment and supplies utilized in
    the performance of duties.
    · Provides input to Manager, Facilities regarding the department budget and possible need for
    overtime. Monitors expenditures throughout the year.
    · Explains and enforces College policies and procedures, safety rules and regulations.
    · Serves as Acting Manager, Facilities in manager's absence. Serves as Acting Campus Supervisor, Housekeeping in supervisor's absence.
    · Performs normal supervisory functions.
    Performs other job related duties as assigned

Education, experience, and other requirements:

Associate's Degree or equivalent and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience. Valid
driver's license and insurance.
