The basics of this position:
The Coordinator of Student Recruiting will work as a part of the District recruiting team under the leadership of the Director of Recruitment and Outreach. The coordinator performs duties necessary to plan, coordinate and integrate activities associated with student recruitment and enrollment at the College.
What you'll do:
- Recruit prospective students by proactively communicating the enrollment process, program-specific details, and general STLCC information via email, telephone, social media, individual appointments, walk-in inquiries, campus tours, and group information sessions.
- Assist with the creation of presentations and conduct outreach to high school students, adults, special populations, school districts, community agencies, and other external groups or agencies to initiate and maintain programs and partnership opportunities; ensures consistent, relevant, and appropriate communications to partners to promote and advance positive relationship with STLCC.
- Assist with the Development and implementation special programming and events for prospective students - some of which may be related to other college departments such as Financial Aid, Academic Advising, Registration, Campus Life, and Employment Services.
- Assist with the maintenance of the District master schedule of events for student recruitment activities including on- campus visits and tours for prospective students and groups.
- Provide information for recruiting events based on the specialty population assigned.
- Work with other College offices to attain expertise in and assist with student recruitment activities in key areas including academic and other programs, student populations, and special projects.
- Collaborate with other college departments, local businesses, and community groups to form partnerships for the promotion and marketing of the college. Serve on internal committees to implement student recruitment initiatives and promote college enrollment.
- Generate and process CRM and Banner reports and develop and maintain tracking systems to review prospect information and provide outreach. Interpret data and reports to determine effectiveness of outreach efforts and programs. Maintain departmental data and related documents and assist in increasing the overall percentage of yield for admitted/enrolled students.
- Utilize Banner and CRM to track outreach. Ensure completed prospect information cards are entered into Banner/CRM in a timely manner.
- Supervise student recruiters and student ambassadors at recruiting events.
- Assist with the Development and implementation of campus-specific student recruitment and retention strategies to promote enrollment of secondary partnership students after high school graduation; facilitates the application, enrollment, and placement testing process for secondary partnership students; facilitates transition of secondary partnership students as regular STLCC students by serving as an advocate and a resource and by identifying and resolving barriers to enrollment.
- Advise school administrators, school counselors, teachers, students, and families on STLCC policies and procedures. Refers complex or high-level issues, complaints, or concerns to appropriate administrator or supervisor.
- Participate in the development of and provide feedback on prospective student recruitment materials.
- Select, train, and supervise campus Student Ambassadors.
- Identify opportunities to improve admissions and recruiting policies and procedures
- Participate in training programs to develop professionally and become fully informed about the College, recruiting, and admissions strategies. Stay current on national and local higher education trends that related to student recruitment.
- Other duties as assigned. Weekend and evening work may be required.
Education, experience, and other requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
• 3+ years of relevant full-time experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Preferred: Strong knowledge of refugee and immigrant educational needs.
• Preferred: Experience in recruiting international students.
• Preferred: Proficiency with virtual meeting software platforms.
• Preferred: Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft and Microsoft 365.
